Health NZ pays midwives to administer vaccinations

Health NZ has launched a new financial incentive scheme for Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) midwives, offering $37.50 per flu or Covid shot, $46 for Tdap, with a co-admin fee of $20.52 if multiple vaccines are administered during the same visit.

This initiative aims to boost antenatal immunisation rates, but it has raised significant concerns, particularly regarding the safety of simultaneous administration during pregnancy.

 I'm doing another strange experiment this month - if doing no posts makes no difference to the amount of hits this blog gets for the first three weeks, would doing more posts increase the hits after three weeks?

TRYING OUT WIMKIN

Yesterday I got an email from a free speech social media platform called Wimkin. I had no idea what it was but clearly I had signed up for an account at some point because they had my email. So I logged in and checked it out.

It turns out I had last looked at Wimkin in September 2020, so nearly five years ago. I set up an account, but never posted anything or made any friends. At that point the deep state was just starting the covidhoax, and the posting I was doing about germ theory and the vaccine scam was getting me a lot of account suspensions on Facebook.

So in 2020 I was certainly looking for uncensored social media alternatives, but Wimkin was very new, and there wasn't much content on there. I put it in the check back later basket and promptly forgot all about it.

It was interesting to revisit the platform in 2025. It works pretty well, with a well designed website, and it's probably most similar to Facebook of all the alternative platforms. It is pretty much uncensored, apart from pornography, nudity, and violence, which is fair enough.

But it still seems very small compared to Facebook, with a limited amount of content. Watching the entire feed (rather than just my friends posts, as on FB), if someone rapidly does half a dozen posts in a row, they will all come up at once because new posts are being added that slowly. 

On Facebook, just the posts from my own friends (about 1300) and the groups I follow (about 200) provide a vastly larger flow of new content. I would never try to view all the posts on Facebook even if that was possible, because there would be thousands of posts every minute.

And the other issue is that almost all the content on Wimkin is American, with a particular focus on American politics. Not being an American, for me this is a big drawback. My Facebook feed is global, with a about half the content being from New Zealand, so is of much more interest to me. But I gather Facebook was very much American only for the first few years, so this could well change over time if Wimkin takes off. 

It also has a lot of ads for controlled news sites like Fox News, and worship of Donald Trump, with seemingly very little understanding of "play both sides".

Something not many people seem to be aware of is that as of 2025 Facebook has backed right off all it's censorship - it's bordering on anything goes at this point. To demonstrate this I've been doing an experiment on one of my alt accounts to show just how much controversial content we can now get away with posting on Facebook.

So I've revisited Wimkin, done half a dozen quick posts and found a dozen new friends. I have an account set up, and if Facebook ever returns to being heavily censored, Wimkin could be my backup plan. But at this point I'll put it on hold again for now.

ONLINE PRIVACY

 Lately I've seen even more discussion about all the AI spyware that is currently being rolled out. But most people seem to be blissfully unaware that pretty much everything they do online is being monitored and recorded by big tech companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft, along with advertising companies, and deep state agencies like the CIA.

A common response upon being informed that they are being spied on, is to just accept it as "normal" and pretty much give up even trying to maintain their privacy. But as we saw with the covidhoax and the death jabs, unless people take responsibility for their own freedom, the deep state plans to enslave and kill us. 

Yes it is possible to maintain your privacy in a surveillance state, but not if you are using a regular "smart" phone or a modern commercial operating system. You can actually keep using computers, phones and the internet, if you want to, and maintain your privacy, but you will need to make the effort to stop using big tech spyware and switch to using different technology. 

If you want any privacy, Google, Microsoft, and Apple are total no go zones. They are all spying and have been for years, but their latest tech is next level. An example is Windows 11 which has a new "feature" called Recall that is essentially taking a screenshot every five seconds and using AI to analyze it. 

If anything, the AI on recent Apple I-phones is even worse, but some normies seem to be more open to the idea that Microsoft is spying rather than Apple, so calling out Microsoft is often a good entry point to the whole AI rabbit hole.

Normies are so addicted to their spy-phones they will pay thousands of dollars to be tracked, recorded, and monitored by the deep state. On average, an Android smartphone sends data to Google 90 times a day and an iPhone communicates with 51 servers per hour. 

So what do I recommend doing to maintain privacy? Here are some good first steps:

Switch to using a Linux operating system such as Linux Mint 

Stick to using Free Open Source Software (FOSS) such as GIMP

Use a "de-googled" phone such as a Brax 3

 Use a privacy browser such as Brave or Floorp (& especially avoid Chrome)

Use privacy mail services such as Proton Mail (& especially avoid Gmail)

Use online aliases and avoid using your real name, especially on platforms like Facebook
