It's getting hard to find any videos on YouTube that are not AI slop with fake droning voices that mispronounce words and constantly put pauses in all the wrong places.
The fact that Youtube hits, content, and comments are mostly AI has now become so obvious it's almost general knowledge.
But until recently most people on Facebook have tended to assume that they were interacting with real people.
If somebody pops up out of nowhere and starts calling you a dipshit, they could well be a real troll, but it's rapidly getting to the point where it's more likely that they are a fake AI account
How to spot fake accounts:
Don't assume any unknown accounts are real, FB is now overrun with fake accounts. Instead go to the account profile in question and have a good look around.
How often do they post? - Probably not often, most fake accounts seldom post any actual content themselves, they just comment on other people's content.

Are you friends with them? - Generally not, they just pop up out of nowhere and you have never encountered them in the past.
Do you have many mutual friends? - No, chances are you won't because they will typically have only 10 - 100 friends and most of those accounts will also be fake.

Are there hundreds of other accounts with the same name also not actually posting anything?

Do they look like someone who would be saying the stuff they are saying? Middle aged women on social media don't generally call complete strangers "delusional fucktards" but there are plenty on FB now saying things like that!

Do they have any sense of humour? AI has none and interprets everything literally. It also has no signs of wisdom or deeper understanding. But that is pretty standard on social media so isn't a very dependable sign

Have they got their account locked and only visible to friends? That is an easy way to hide the fact that they never post anything. Yes some real people also hide their accounts, but these are all red flags.
And now moving on from looking at their profiles to looking at their comments
Are they overwhelmingly angry and personally abusive over things that are really none of their business?. A lot of regular people are like that online, especially vegans whose brains are starved of nutrients, but one of the goals of AI is to generate controversy and anger so it's another red flag.
Are their comments remarkably similar to dozens of other comments on the same post: AI is simply copying and doing blended remakes of previous content.
Do they lose every argument?. After initially being full of angry abuse, do they just give up and NEVER bother to come up with anything that would prove their point, even when you have deliberately left them an easy win if they would just provide one small piece of evidence?
Are they just a complete waste of space! Many accounts constantly just post comments like "Who gives a fck you dipsh1t?" They may be real or AI, but either way it makes no difference really. The thread and the entire platform would be better off without them.
The thing to keep in mind here is that knee jerk mindless negativity is one of the easiest things to generate with low level AI. Another is mindless positivity such as " Love your work". Both can be churned out by any AI slop generator.
As always, do your own research, but don't assume that the account you are interacting with is a real person. An increasing number are not. And by increasing I mean they have increased from a large number to most.
It's all complete guesswork, but after checking the accounts of a bunch of FB commenters today, I'm now pretty certain that more than half
of them were fake.
Even if it's only 51% that is still "most". My current guess is that somewhere between 60% and 80% of all FB accounts are some form of AI. That is something to keep in mind!

Am I real myself? Yes I mostly am you cheeky cunt! Check out my blog at www.sift.co.nz for starters. But don't assume my online identities or photos are real. I'm not always who I appear to be...
